What We Do

Who ACES Serves

  

The Agape’ Children’s Emergency Shelter serves area girls who have been removed from their home by the Department of Human Services due to neglect and abuse.


The ACES Serves:

  • Abused, neglected and abandoned girls ages 8-18
  • Up to 20 girls per night
  • The entire state of Texas, primarily children from Region 6 (Austin, Brazoria. Chamber, Colorado, Ft.Bend. Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Wharton)

Referrals to ACES come from:

  • Department of Child and Protective Services
  • Comprehensive Juvenile Services
  • Juvenile Court
  • Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Private therapists and/or counselors
  • Inter-agency agreements
  • Hospitals

How ACES Serves

  

Serving as one of DCFS-approved Emergency Shelter for Harris County, the ACES provides a safe home for many girls in crisis each year.


How the ACES Serves Our Girls:


  •  Provides a safe and structured home-like environment for children in crisis
  •  Provides all the food, clothing, shelter, & hygiene products to each girl served
  • Provides after-school tutoring
  • Coordinates counseling services through a local counseling center.
  • Provides Life Skills training to each girl served
  • Provides holiday and birthday celebrations to each girl served
  • Transports the girls to/from school, doctors’ appointments, visitations, and other social or school activities
  • Allows the girls in crisis to just be kids

ACES Statistics

  

The Agape’ Children’s Emergency Shelter will provide approximately 6000 nights of care each year to abused and neglected children.
